Supervised By: City Engineer and Assistant City Engineer

GENERAL SUMMARY

Under the direction of the City Engineer, the Engineering Technician will be responsible for some or all of the following:

    • Ability to read and interpret detailed construction drawings
    • Preparation of plans and bid documents for small public works projects
    • Inspection of small public works projects
    • Permit review and inspection of utility and excavation work in City streets
    • Locating and marking City underground facilities (storm sewers, traffic signals)
    • Investigating and developing solutions for drainage issues
    • Coordination and operation of City storm sewer video inspection equipment
    • Implementation of City storm water program
    • GIS development and implementation
    • Prepare maps and drawings for Engineering and other City departments
    • Developing and working with databases (pavement management)
