Looking for a fun birthday idea without all the work? Bring your child's party to Hamilton Center Ice Arena! We offer two party packages to fit all your needs and we'll supply the set-up and clean up. Both Gold and Silver party packages are available on Fri. evenings, Sat., or Sun. afternoons. The Gold party package is also available on weekdays. Seven day advance notice is required to schedule a party. For details, call 376-2686.

Quality hockey and figure skating equipment is in stock and
available now at reasonable prices.
Professional assistance is also available to help you in
selecting the proper equipment for your needs. Come in and
browse through our complete inventory of skating supplies,
hockey equipment, hockey and figure skates and NHL
jerseys and hats. The Pro Shop is usually available during
the same hours that the center is open.

Early morning ice is available for those competitive skaters
who wish to add extra hours to their practice day. Please

(Ice Show Participants ONLY)
Columbus Parks and Recreation and Lincoln Center Figure
Skating Club partner to host an annual ice show, which
has become a major production and community event.
The 2008 Ice Show will be held April 25, 26 & 27. Any
tot through adult skaters are welcome to participate
provided they have paid the show fee by Jan 15th.
Registration fee is due prior to the first class day in
March.
Non-Show Session
Group lessons will also be held on the small ice during the
ice show session for tots through adult skaters.

*Last week of ice show classes will consist of Tu, W &
Th rehearsals & ice show performances Fri., Sat. & Sun.
During ice show session, tot & kdg. skating times will be
Tu at 4pm & Sat. at 12N. Boys skating session will be

All ice show skaters (with exception of boys) are
encouraged to attend 25 min. of practice & instruction
on both Tu. & Sa.

Hamilton Center's group skating lessons follow the U.S. Figure Skating Association's Skate with US program. It is a beginning
skating program that is fun, challenging and rewarding followed by specialized programs in freestyle, hockey, power skating
and ice dancing.

25 minutes instruction for the beginner
skater. Min. 4 / Max 8 |
| Kindergarten (age 4-6): |
25 minutes
instruction for the beginner skater, Min 4 / Max 8 |
| Basic 1-8 Classes: |
25 minutes group instruction / 25 minutes of practice time. A progressive short term goal program with elements increasing in difficulty as skills improve. |
| Basic 1: |
Forward skating & glides, backward skating, forward swizzles & snowplow stop. |
| Basic 2: |
Backward glides & swizzles, forward one-foot glides, two foot turns. |
| Basic 3: |
Forward stroking, forward pumps on a circle, back one-foot flides, two foot spins. |
| Basic 4: |
Forward crossovers, outside 3 turns, forward edges, back pumps on a circle. |
| Basic 5: |
Backward crossovers, back edges, beginning one foot spin. |
| Basic 6: |
Inside 3 turns, T-Stop, Bunny hop and spiral lunge. |
| Basic 7: |
Mohawks, pivots, combo moves with crossovers and turns. |
| Basic 8: |
Moving turns, moving Mohawks, Waltz jump, 1 foot spin. |
| Novice Club: |
45 minutes of instruction including power stroking moves in the field, jumps and spins. Skater must have passed Basic 8 to be eligible for this class. |
| Power Development: |
30 minutes with emphasis on stroking technique development, stamina & edge control. |
| Adult Classes: |
25 min. of instruction and 25 minutes of practice time. Skaters learn the basics of ice skating while working on overall fitness, balance and coordination. |

| Intro to Hockey Class Descriptions (Ages 4-14) |

Must have passed group skating lesson Basic 1. Learn the fundamentals of hockey skating. Stick and helmet provided. Classes
held once a week. Please come at least 20 minutes early to have time to dress before class.
Class length: 30 minutes

Skaters are introduced to stick and puck skills with emphasis on skating skills: forward skating, basic turns, snow
plow stops and backward skating. |
