The Columbus Police Department has published its 2012 Year-End Report. The report outlines the accomplishments of the department's officers and support staff.
Most of what the Columbus Police Department accomplished this past year falls under the umbrella of “community policing.” The Columbus Police Department has embraced community policing strategies as a model for improving service, reducing crime, and increasing accountability. Community policing is defined as policing in partnership with the community. This means working together to solve problems of crime and disorder. These partnerships are critical to a safe community.
