Group Ice Skating Class Descriptions
Walk-in or Call-in Registration at Hamilton Community Center & Ice Arena
- Fall 1 Registration: Beginning July 18 (Register by July 29 to save $8), Flyer (PDF)
Fall 1 Session Dates: August 2 - September 24
- Fall 2 Registration: Beginning September 17 (Register by September 30 to save $8), Flyer (PDF)
Fall 2 Session Dates: October 4 - December 17 (No classes weeks of 10/10, 11/7 & 11/21)
- Winter 1 Registration: Beginning December 12 (Register by January 6 to save $8), Flyer (PDF)
Winter 1 Session Dates: January 10 - March 4
Tots & Kindergarten
25 minutes of instruction for ages 4-6 years.
Basic 1 through 8
25 minutes of group instruction with 25 minutes of practice time. The basic levels are a progressive program with skating elements increasing in difficulty as skills improve.
45 minutes of instruction time focusing on moves in the field, jumps and spins. Skaters must have passed Basic 8 to be eligible for this class.
30 minutes of instruction with emphasis on improving power, turn technique, stamina and edge control. Skaters must have passed Basic 5 to be eligible for this class.
25 minutes of group instruction with 25 minutes of practice time. Skaters learn the basics of ice skating while working on overall fitness, balance, and coordination. Great exercise and fun!
