It shall be the duty of the board of public works and safety to direct the clerk-treasurer to assess penalties as set forth herein in those cases which are not performed in compliance with this chapter. The penalty for noncompliance of the provisions of this chapter shall be double the permit fee per day of noncompliance. (Prior code § 27-34a)
