It is unlawful for any person to erect or maintain any wooden pole on Washington Street in the city from Second Street to Eighth Street for the purpose of supporting or carrying any wire in such street. Any steel, iron or cement poles used for such purpose shall be not more than twenty-five feet above ground. (Prior code § 23-2)
