It is unlawful for any person to erect or maintain any pole on or along Washington Street in the city from Second Street to Eighth Street for the purpose of carrying electric current; provided, that this section shall not apply to any pole set by the city at a street intersection on Washington Street for the purpose of carrying current to light the intersection by street lights.
