Section 15.24.040 Hearings.
15.24.040 Hearings.
A. Any person affected by any notice
issued by the chief code enforcement officer under
Section 15.24.040 may request and shall be granted a hearing on the matter before the board of
public works and safety; provided, that such person shall file in the office of the chief code
enforcement officer a written petition requesting such hearing and setting forth a brief statement of
the grounds therefor within ten days after the day the notice was served. Upon receipt of such
petition the chief code enforcement officer shall arrange a time and place for such hearing and shall
give the petitioner written notice thereof. At such hearing the petitioner shall be given an
opportunity to be heard and to show cause why such notice should not be complied with.
B. Hearings on unsafe buildings or unsafe
premises shall be conducted pursuant to Indiana
Code, 36-7-9-7. (Prior code § 11-4)
