Chapter 16.24 DESIGN STANDARDS
Section 16.24.080 Private streets.
The commission may authorize the use of private streets to
provide access to abutting property
subject to the following conditions which relate to the future maintenance of the street(s).
A. Design Standards and Certifications
Required. Pavement width shall meet the standards for
a public street.
B. Maintenance. Continued proper maintenance
of private streets shall be ensured. The
subdivider shall make provision for this maintenance In a manner acceptable to the commission.
Municipal services, including but not limited to snow removal, pavement overlay, crack sealing,
patching, trash and leaf pick-up will not be provided on private streets. Appropriate reference shall
be prominently displayed on the plat indicating that the street is private; that maintenance will be
a
private, not a public responsibility, and that municipal services relating to streets and rights-of-way
