16.24.150 Blocks.
A. Configuration. The lengths, widths
and shapes of blocks shall be determined with due
regard to the provision of building sites suitable to accommodate the needs of the type of use
contemplated, and the zoning requirements as to lot sizes and dimensions.
B. Shape. Irregularly shaped blocks,
those intended for cul-de-sacs or loop streets, and those
containing interior parks or playgrounds, may be approved by the commission if properly designed
and located and if the maintenance of interior public places is covered by agreements.
C. Length. No block shall be longer than
fifteen hundred feet.
D. Walkways. Where blocks are over nine
hundred feet in length a sidewalk in an easement
not less than ten feet in width at or near the halfway point may be required, if necessary, to provide
proper access to schools, recreational areas, shopping centers, and other facilities. (See Section
