2.44.010 Composition.
A. The board of directors of the commons
shall hereafter consist of seven members, five of
whom shall be appointed by the board of public works and safety of the city and ratified by the
common council, and two of whom shall be members who have derived their appointments from
members originally appointed. These two continuing members of the board of directors who have
derived their appointments through members of the board of directors who have derived their
appointments through members initially appointed by Irwin Miller, Zenia S. Miller and Clementine
Tangeman, are authorized, upon the death or resignation of one of their number, or the inability of
one of their number to serve as a director, to fill the vacancy thus created, which power shall be a
continuing one. All future appointments to the board of the commons made by the board of public
works and safety shall be for terms of four years, and all appointments so made shall be ratified by
the common council of the city.
B. The common council of the city desires
and commits that it will financially support the
board of directors of the commons. (Prior code § 2-5)
