A.    The Bartholomew Columbus telecommunications commission shall consist of six members.

    B.    The mayor and common council shall appoint three members to such commission and the board of commissioners of Bartholomew County shall appoint three members to such commission.

    C.    Upon establishment of the Bartholomew Columbus telecommunications commission, the three members appointed by each governmental unit shall be appointed for the following terms of office:

    1.    One for a term of one year;

    2.    One for a term of two years;

    3.    One for a term of three years.

    Provided, however, that in all events each such initial term shall expire on the appropriate anniversary date established in subsection F of this section for the appointment of members to such commission.

    D.    When an initial term of office expires, each new appointment shall be for a term of three years.

    E.    All initial appointments to the Bartholomew Columbus telecommunications commission shall be made within thirty days after the effective date of this section.

    F.    All subsequent appointments to the Bartholomew Columbus telecommunications commission shall be made at the first regular meeting of the governmental entity making each such appointment on or following January 1st of each year.

    G.    In the event that a successor has been named to replace a member upon the expiration of such member's term, such member shall continue to serve until a successor has been duly appointed and qualified. (Prior code § 2-42)
