Chapter 2.84 TELECOMMUNICATIONS FUND AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE
Section 2.84.020 Telecommunications review committee.
A. A committee is established to be
known as the Bartholomew Columbus telecommunications
review committee which shall be comprised of the following:
1. Three members representing the
city who shall be appointed as follows:
a. One member shall be appointed by
the mayor.
b. One member shall be appointed by
the president pro-tem of the city council; and
c. One member, who is an employee
of the department of community development, shall be
appointed by the director of the department of community development.
2. Three members representing Bartholomew
County who shall be appointed by the county
commissioners.
B. Appointments to the telecommunications
review committee shall be made as follows:
1. Initial appointments to the telecommunications
review committee shall be made by the city
within thirty days of the date that the ordinance codified in this chapter is passed by the city council
and becomes effective.* Such initial appointments shall be for the following periods:
a. The mayor's appointment shall expire
December 31, 2000.
b. The president pro-tem of the city
council's appointment shall expire December 31, 2001.
c. The director of the department
of community development's appointment shall expire
December 31, 2002.
2. Initial appointments to the telecommunications
review committee shall be made by
Bartholomew County within thirty days of the passage of the ordinance codified in this chapter by
the Bartholomew County commissioners.
3. Subsequent appointments by the
city to the telecommunications review committee shall be
for terms of three years and shall be made at the first regular meeting of the Columbus city council
in each year.
4. Subsequent appointments of Bartholomew
County to the telecommunications review
committee shall be for terms of three years and shall be made, when applicable, at the first regular
meeting of the Bartholomew County commissioners each year.
5. In the event that a successor has
not been named to replace a member upon the expiration of
such member's term, such member shall continue to serve until a successor has been duly appointed
and qualified.
6. A majority of the telecommunications
review committee shall mean four members. (Ord.
