On May 11, 2012, the City of Columbus - Bartholomew County Planning Department received the 2012 Outstanding Marketing Project Award from the Hoosier Planning Awards for their website.
Every year the American Planning Association - Indiana Chapter (APA - IN) hosts the Hoosier Planning Awards during the Spring Development Conference to recognize programs and projects that demonstrate excellence in planning in the state of Indiana.
The Outstanding Marketing Project Award recognizes a program or project completed by a planning organization or firm which created a package of materials including print ads, videos, maps, that raised awareness of planning issues, increased community participation in planning, or made a significant contribution to advancing the cause of planning in their community.
