Regular Yard Waste & Compost routes begin
March 13, 2017 thru December 15, 2017:
We suggest City resident’s cut grass high and let the clippings remain on your lawn. This acts as a free fertilizer as well as a weed inhibitor. Toters/ stacked brush will be collected curbside the day following your regular trash collection.
YARD WASTE / RECYCLING TOTERS are NOT to be used for household trash or brush.
All compost material MUST be placed in a dark green Yard Waste Toter for collection.
Grass, leaves, flowers, garden waste, weeds, pine needles/cones & green hedge trimmings placed in your toter will be collected by City crews curbside only.
Collection will be on your regular trash day & toters must be out front by 7:00 a.m.
Material must be free from any other debris.
BRUSH/LIMB collection is provided for City residents on a weekly basis beginning in March. Brush/limbs will be picked up curbside on the same day as your trash collection, and must be stacked.
- Brush/limbs must not exceed 6′ in length and stacked at curb (no bags please)
- One armful of limbs can go in your brown trash toter with your regular trash
- Brush/limbs must be free of all other debris and trash
- Shrubs with roots must be dirt free
If you chose NOT to participate in the compost program you may bag your compost material and bring it to the compost site located at the Department of Public Works. You will then empty your bags into the compost row and take your bags back with you.
Brush/limb collection will not be provided to apartment complexes, businesses, churches, trailer parks, or on private streets.
