Columbus, IN –The city of Columbus is excited to share that it has received $1,500,000 in matching funds from the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) through the Community Crossings Matching Grant program. These funds will be allocated to enhance over 5.6 miles of roads within the city.

Initiated in 2016, the Community Crossings Matching Grant Program offers financial support to cities, towns, and counties throughout Indiana for upgrades to local roads and bridges. This program is accessible to all local government entities in Indiana, and Columbus is eligible for the 50/50% matching funds for these improvements.

“Receiving this funding represents the advancement in our dedication to enhancing Columbus’s infrastructure. This investment will improve the quality of our roads while also boosting safety and accessibility for our community,” stated Andrew Beckort, City Engineer for the city of Columbus.
