Columbus, IN — September 29, 2025 — Columbus Parks and Recreation is proud to welcome more than 2,800 athletes, coaches, and spectators to the Circle K Fieldhouse at NexusPark for the War of the Roses Midwest Nationals Wrestling Tournament, taking place October 3–5. With over 60 teams expected, this marks the first major event of the fall/winter season—a dynamic showcase of Columbus’s hospitality, coordination, and community pride. Saturday, October 4 is anticipated to be the tournament’s highest-attendance day.

To support the scale of the event and ensure a seamless experience for guests, the Parks Department has partnered with city agencies and local businesses to enhance transportation, signage, and visitor services:

  • Donner Center (739 22nd Street) will serve as an overflow parking location. The facility itself will be open Saturday, October 4 from 7:00–10:00 a.m., with restrooms available and a representative from the Columbus Area Visitors Center onsite to assist guests.
  • Courtesy shuttle service will run daily from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. between Donner Center and NexusPark:
    • During peak hours (7:00–10:00 a.m. and 6:00–9:00 p.m.), shuttles will operate on a continuous loop.
    • From 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., shuttles will run every 30 minutes at the top and bottom of the hour.
  • Campus signage will be placed throughout NexusPark to guide guests to parking areas and shuttle access points.
  • Business outreach is underway to ensure nearby restaurants and retailers are informed and prepared for increased foot traffic.
  • Tourism tools including a quick-reference list of nearby dining options will be shared with event organizers.

“This tournament is a chance to show how Columbus comes together—not just to host, but to truly welcome,” said Brady Buckley, Associate Director of Sports for Columbus Parks and Recreation.
