Columbus, IN — September 8, 2025 Columbus Parks and Recreation is proud to announce the appointment of Dawn Ray as the new Associate Director of Business Services. With over 14 years of experience in public finance and municipal operations, Ray brings a wealth of strategic insight and fiscal leadership to the department’s growing portfolio of community programs and facilities.

In her new role, Ray will oversee financial planning, budget management, and business operations across Columbus Parks and Recreation, including The Commons, Hamilton Community Center & Ice Arena, Donner Aquatic Center, and NexusPark (including Circle K Fieldhouse). Her expertise in public sector finance will play a vital role in aligning resources with community needs, ensuring transparency, and supporting long-term sustainability.

Prior to joining Columbus Parks and Recreation, Ray held leadership roles within the Brown County School Corporation and Johnson County Government, where she led multi-million-dollar budgeting processes, implemented cost-saving initiatives, and championed financial equity in public services.
