Columbus Firemen’s Cheer Fund will once again host our annual Chili Cook off to kick off our annual toy drive and fundraising season.

This year’s event will be modified to a drive thru event at Fire Station # 1 (1101 Jackson Street). The decision for a drive thru event was reached citing safety concerns for the community and first responders during the Coronavirus health emergency. We hope the community will join us for our holiday kick-off event on Friday, November 6  2020, from 5:00pm until the chili pots are empty at Fire Station #1, located at 1101 Jackson Street.

Due to the likelihood of traffic congestion, attendees will be asked to approach the fire station from 15th Street where it becomes Jackson Street. Upon exiting attendees will be required to exit West onto 11th Street.

This year’s event will also be a free will donation for our fundraising efforts. Cash or check only will be accepted. This change will eliminate the back and forth of money exchange while also improving the overall speed of the process.

Like many not-for-profits, the Columbus Firemen’s Cheer Fund has faced numerous challenges with cancellations of several fundraising events along with organizational decisions around volunteer involvement and accepting used toys. This year’s event is more important than ever and we hope you will be able to join us.
