Columbus Fire Department Retirement Announcement

The Columbus Fire Department (CFD) announces the retirement of Lieutenant Jim Miller, a 27-year veteran of the department. Lieutenant Miller joined the Columbus Fire Department in 1997. Lieutenant Miller has volunteered with the Columbus Firemen’s Cheer Fund throughout his career and held a Chairman position on the Cheer Fund Board for several years. Miller had also served as a union officer with the Columbus Professional Firefighter’s Local 2190 and was an active member of the Columbus Fire Department Color Guard.

Lieutenant Miller retires as the Lieutenant at fire station # 5 on the B- Battalion. Lieutenant Miller’s official retirement date is June 17, 2024. The Columbus Fire Department expresses our deep gratitude to Lieutenant Miller for his faithful years of service to the department and the community.
