Local Man Arrested following Pursuit

A local man is in custody for multiple charges following a crash, pursuit, and drunk driving investigation. On January 26^th, 2026, at 5:19 pm, officers were notified of a leaving the scene crash that happened near Carr Hill Road and Merchants Mile. The caller believed the driver that left the scene was intoxicated. They followed the suspect vehicle, a white Ford F-150, to 3^rd and Franklin Streets. There, the caller was able to point out the suspect vehicle to officers as it turned and went the wrong way down 3^rd Street traveling east. Officers attempted to stop the F-150, but the driver fled. They pursued the truck down State Street out of the city until it eventually stopped near State Road 7 and 525 East.

The driver, Clinton Rogers, 47 of Columbus, was taken into custody without incident. Officers noted signs of impairment and a beer can in the truck.

As a result of the officers’ investigation, Rogers was arrested and preliminarily charged with the following:

• Resisting law enforcement in a vehicle, a level 6 felony
• Operating while intoxicated endangering a person, a class A misdemeanor
• Disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor
• Leaving the scene of an accident, a class B misdemeanor
• Operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a class B misdemeanor
• Reckless driving, a class C misdemeanor

All charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
