Morgantown Woman Arrested on Meth Dealing Charge

A Morgantown, Indiana woman is in custody on several preliminary charges including Dealing Methamphetamine after she failed to stop a Columbus intersection on Thursday afternoon.  Sgt. Ben Goodin observed the violation at Middle Road and Poshard Drive shortly after 2:00 p.m. and stopped the vehicle.   Goodin spoke to the driver who appeared visibly nervous and did not make eye contact with him.  The driver provided Sgt. Goodin with a driver license which the officer determined a short time later belonged to another person.  The driver then falsely identified herself a second time.  Officers determined a short time later that the driver of the vehicle was Samantha K. Gay, a 37 year old Morgantown resident.  Gay was taken into custody and advised officers that there were narcotics inside the vehicle.  Officers searched Gay’s purse and allegedly located seven bags of methamphetamine.  The officers also located marijuana, pipes with drug residue, two digital scales, 70 syringes as well as additional drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.  Gay was taken into custody and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail.  While inside the jail, officers located an additional bag of methamphetamine that Gay had attempted to conceal in her clothing.  A Brown County Warrant for Gay’s arrest was also confirmed.  She was remanded on the following preliminary charges:

Dealing in Methamphetamine Greater than 10 Grams (Level 2 Felony)

Possession of Methamphetamine 10-28 Grams (Level 4 Felony)

Trafficking with an Inmate (Level 5 Felony)

Possession of a Legend Drug Injection Device (Level 6 Felony)

False Informing (Class B Misdemeanor)

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor)

Possession of Marijuana (Class B Misdemeanor)
