On January 26<sup>th<\/sup>, 2026, at 5:19 pm, officers were notified of a leaving the scene crash that happened near Carr Hill Road and Merchants Mile. The caller believed the driver that left the scene was intoxicated. They followed the suspect vehicle, a white Ford F-150, to 3<sup>rd<\/sup> and Franklin Streets. There, the caller was able to point out the suspect vehicle to officers as it turned and went the wrong way down 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Street traveling east. Officers attempted to stop the F-150, but the driver fled. They pursued the truck down State Street out of the city until it eventually stopped near State Road 7 and 525 East.<\/p>\n<p>The driver, Clinton Rogers, 47 of Columbus, was taken into custody without incident. Officers noted signs of impairment and a beer can in the truck.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the officers\u2019 investigation, Rogers was arrested and preliminarily charged with the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Resisting law enforcement in a vehicle, a level 6 felony<\/li>\n<li>Operating while intoxicated endangering a person, a class A misdemeanor<\/li>\n<li>Disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor<\/li>\n<li>Leaving the scene of an accident, a class B misdemeanor<\/li>\n<li>Operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a class B misdemeanor<\/li>\n<li>Reckless driving, a class C misdemeanor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>All c<\/em><em>harges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guil<\/em><em>ty.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>January 27th, 2026 A local man is in custody for multiple charges following a crash, pursuit, and drunk driving investigation.
