At 10:54 am on January 29<sup>th<\/sup>, 2026, officers responded to Walmart, 735 Whitefield Drive, after the caller said someone pointed a firearm at her. When officers arrived, they began gathering information from the victim and a witness. Based on what the officers learned, a man driving a Jeep truck opened his door and pointed a handgun at a woman in the parking lot after she drove past his truck. The two vehicles did not collide but came close.<\/p>\n<p>The man then left the parking lot in the Jeep. A witness was able to obtain a license plate. Officers found the Jeep and stopped it near US31 and 100 S. A high-risk stop was conducted and the male driver was detained. A revolver was found inside of the truck.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the investigation, the driver, Tadd Martin, 44, was arrested for the preliminary charges of pointing a firearm, a level 6 felony, and intimidation with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>All c<\/em><em>harges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guil<\/em><em>ty.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>January 30th, 2026 Columbus Police Department officers arrested an Elizabethtown man following a report of intimidation with a firearm at a local Walmart.
