At the April 26 Board of Works meeting, members voted to award the construction of a 150,000 square foot fieldhouse at NexusPark to Columbus, Indiana-based Force Construction, Inc.
Force Construction was one of two companies that submitted a response to the request for qualifications and request for proposals for the fieldhouse project, part of the planned addition to the existing structure formerly known as Fair Oaks Mall. Force Construction’s bid was the lowest bid of the two proposals evaluated by the City.
The City will now begin working with Force Construction to negotiate the final costs of the project, based on value engineering, material supply costs, and alternates that may be accepted from the initial plan. Final numbers on construction costs and a tentative construction timeline are expected to be announced in the next few weeks.
