In alignment with its 2025 Destination Master Plan and the City of Columbus’ Downtown 2030 Plan, Visit Columbus has launched an Event Calendar which will serve as the official community calendar for Columbus and all of Bartholomew County.

Available at ComeSeeColumbus.com/events, the calendar serves as a centralized, comprehensive resource for residents and visitors seeking information about local events, activities, and experiences, many of which are free or low-cost to attend.

“We know this community has been asking for a robust and comprehensive calendar for years and with the launch of our new website in December, we are committed to providing that resource to the community,” said Misty Weisensteiner, Executive Director of Visit Columbus.

“We appreciate Visit Columbus stepping forward to take on the responsibility of managing and promoting a centralized community calendar,” said Mayor Mary Ferdon. “Creating one trusted, comprehensive calendar that is shared and promoted broadly is a key recommendation of the City’s Downtown 2030 Plan. This effort strengthens communication, reduces confusion, and supports a more vibrant community for both residents and visitors.”

The Event Calendar is designed to be user-friendly and highly searchable. Visitors can filter events by date, category, and keyword to quickly find experiences that match their interests. For example, those interested in Concerts and Live Music can select that category to view only performances and musical events, while others can explore festivals, arts programming, family-friendly activities, sporting events, and more.

Weisensteiner emphasized that community participation is essential to the calendar’s long-term success.

“We do our best to keep an eye on what is happening and add events to the calendar, but we rely on event organizers to submit their own events to make sure details are communicated accurately,” she said.

Event organizers are encouraged to submit their events by clicking “Submit An Event” at the top of the calendar page. All submitted events are subject to approval prior to publication.

By serving as the official community calendar, Visit Columbus aims to strengthen communication, increase event visibility, support local organizations, enhance the overall vibrancy of Columbus and Bartholomew County and stimulate the tourism economy.
