After a two-year hold caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Columbus Fire Department partnered with C-4 criminal justice students in April for a session on water rescue training at Columbus East High School.
Columbus firefighters demonstrated tools and techniques utilized during water rescue emergencies and then provided students with an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills during simulated rescue scenarios in the pool. Fire and law enforcement agencies serve as first responders for water rescue emergencies throughout the county and this training is an excellent chance for rescue personnel to share their experiences and education with future public safety professionals.
