2018 ART & ESSAY CONTEST
The Commission is no longer accepting entries for the 2018 Benjamin M. King Essay and J. Irwin Miller Art Contests.
It is once again time for the annual Human Rights Commission’s Benjamin M. King Essay and J. Irwin Miller Art Contests. This year’s theme is “Fair Housing for All” in honor of the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Fair Housing Act.
These contests are open to all Bartholomew County students in grades 5 – 12.
There are three divisions:
Division 1: Elementary (grades 5 – 6)
Division 2: Middle (grades 7 – 8)
Division 3: High (grades 9 – 12)
Students must complete an official entry form to attach to their essays or art pieces. The due date for all essays and art pieces is Thursday, March 08, 2018.
Winners from each division will receive a $75 award, an award-winning book, and complimentary tickets to the Human Rights Annual Dinner!
We are also looking for community members to participate as volunteer judges in order to select the winners of our contests. If you are interested in participating as a volunteer judge, please contact our office or fill out this volunteer inquiry form.
