The Civil Air Patrol is the official auxiliary of the United States Air Force and serves the Columbus area community, the state of Indiana and the nation to provide aerospace education, emergency services and cadet programs.

Youth ages 12 and up are welcome to serve as cadets. Cadets get to take orientation flights in the CAP fleet of Cessna aircraft and get to learn a host of skills to serve in times of emergency. Adults serve as Senior Members and can choose from over 30 different specialties to serve as professional volunteers in the air and on the ground.

The Bakalar Composite Squadron meets at the Columbus Municipal Airport regularly during the month. Learn more about the Squadron and how to visit us on our website at https://inwg.cap.gov/locations/columbus
