The Columbus Fire Department announces the promotion of three department members to fill officer vacancies left by recent retirements.

Lieutenant Josh Allman has been promoted to the rank of Captain. Captain Allman is a 20 year veteran of the department and had previously been promoted to Lieutenant in 2016. Captain Allman holds a Fire Officer 1 certification through the State of Indiana. Additional certifications include: Confined Space Rescue Technician, Advanced EMT, Hazardous Materials Technician, Rope Rescue Technician, Swift Water Rescue Technician, Vehicle and Machinery Rescue Technician and Fire Officer Strategies and Tactics.

Firefighter Andrew Jordan has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Lieutenant Jordan has served 14 years with the Columbus Fire Department. Lieutenant Jordan’s certifications include:  Confined Space Rescue Technician, EMT Basic, Rope Rescue Technician, Swift Water Rescue Technician, Vehicle and Machinery Rescue Technician and Fire Officer Strategies and Tactics.

Firefighter Ben Whiteside has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Lieutenant Whiteside has served 14 years with the Columbus Fire Department. Lieutenant Whiteside holds a Fire Officer 1 certification through the State of Indiana. Additional certifications include: EMT Basic, Rope Rescue Technician, Vehicle and Machinery Rescue Technician and Fire Officer Strategy and Tactics.
