The Columbus Fire Department has joined the Twitterverse.

Launching our Twitter handle, @fire_columbus, the department plans to tweet out information to the media and public about serious incidents and calls that might affect the Columbus community. The tweets will include common details like the location and nature of the incident and safety information for community members. It’s also a great way for us to keep our audience informed of fire department news, community risk reduction topics and our involvement within the community.

The department encourages anyone interested in receiving such information to follow us at @fire_columbus. We will also continue to post information on our Facebook page.
