The Columbus Fire Department recently hired 3 firefighters to fill open positions created from retirements. We welcome Brandon Bartholomew, Casey Taylor and Kyle Whipker to our department. All three men participated in a department familiarization program where they reviewed department procedure as well as the states Firefighter I&II training curriculum. All three firefighters have received their station and shift assignments are released to function as a sworn firefighter.

Casey Taylor

Attended Edinburgh Apostolic Tabernacle: Graduated 2007

Additional Training: Tri-County Training Academy- 2013, Central Nine Academy- 2015

Previous Public Safety Experience: Edinburgh Fire and Rescue- 9 Years (2009- Current), Seals Ambulance Service- 2 Years (2013-2015)

Certifications: FF I&II, Emergency Medical Technician. Hazardous Materials Operations& Awareness, Technical Rescue Awareness, *CEVO and EVOC (*both courses are related to operation emergency vehicles)

Kyle Whipker

Age: 28

Hometown: Columbus, IN

2008 Graduate of Columbus East High School

Previous Public Safety Experience: Volunteer Firefighter for the Elizabethtown Volunteer Fire Department since 2006.

Certifications:  Indiana Firefighter I & II certification.
