Our annual Hook a Kid on Fishing event will be held on June 5th, 2026 from 9 am to 2 pm. Kids will get the opportunity to fish or learn to fish with local law enforcement officer. Thanks to community donations, the event is completely free and lunch will be provided. There are just a few requirements:

  • Must be from Bartholomew County
  • Must be 9 to 13 years old
  • No fishing experience required

Registration applications will be accepted until May 22nd at 5 pm. Submitting an application does not guarantee a spot, as the children will be selected by a lottery draw process. If your child gets selected, you will be notified and given the location of the event no later than May 29th.
