Man Found Deceased in Park

On June 20th, 2025, officers were called to Mill Race Park near 5th and Lindsey Streets for a possible deceased person at 12:43 p.m. When officers arrived, the caller directed them to a picnic table where they found a man deceased. Columbus Police Department detectives and the Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office were called to the scene to investigate further.

The Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office identified the man as Aron Hoy, 59 of Columbus.

There were no indications of injury or foul play at the scene. An autopsy will be performed as investigators continue to look into the circumstances of Mr. Hoy’s death.
