City Hall to Host Mobile Blood Drive

Columbus, IN — The City of Columbus is partnering with Versiti to host a mobile blood drive on Tuesday, May 28 from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm. The mobile bus will be located in the City Hall parking lot at 123 Washington Street, Columbus. Your commitment to saving lives through blood donation is absolutely crucial, as hospitals and patients rely on the blood we collected to keep our community healthy. City Closings for May

City offices will be closed Tuesday, May 7 for Election Day. All curbside collections will be on time, with no delays. Both Board of Public Works and City Council meetings have been moved to Monday, May 6. City offices will be closed Monday, May 27 for Memorial Day. All curbside collections will be delayed by one day, with Friday's collections on Saturday, June 1. Check your pickup day here. Columbus City Utilities offices will also be closed both days. If you have a problem with your water or sewer service, please call 812-372-8861 and follow the prompts.

Law Enforcement Memorial Service

In commemoration of National Police Week, a memorial service to honor law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty will be held on Friday, May 19th at 9:00 a.m. at the Public Safety Plaza near 2nd Street and Jackson Street in Columbus. During the thirty-minute ceremony, officers will honor the police officers and police canines who died in the line of duty during 2023.  This year’s event will feature area law enforcement Honor Guards, bagpipers, a “21 gun” salute, and the playing of taps.  The event is free and open to the public.

Housing Study Survey Open Through April 19

Columbus, IN – The City of Columbus is welcoming the community's participation in a housing study survey. This project is being led by the city's Community Development and Planning Departments. The two departments have set up an oversight team that selected RDG Planning & Design last fall.
