We’re celebrating 200 years of Columbus and Bartholomew County

The Columbus Area Bicentennial Commission is organizing a yearlong celebration of all things Columbus and Bartholomew County. We’re looking to connect all members of our community so we can honor our past, find common ground in our present, and imagine possibilities for our future.

Preparing for a celebration 200 years in the making requires all hands on deck! By getting involved through volunteering, donation, or partnership, you can ensure our yearlong celebration leaves an impact for years to come.

Volunteer

The yearlong celebration will be all hands on deck! Community members are encouraged to get involved through volunteering for upcoming events, projects, and initiatives. Those interested can sign up online to be contacted about volunteer opportunities.

Donate

While the bicentennial celebration will last one year, we want to make an impact that lasts many lifetimes. By offering your financial support, you can help the commission make a positive impact on our next 200 years. Money raised will go to projects like large-scale events, community initiatives, city beautification, and more. Donate through the Heritage Fund – the Community Foundation of Bartholomew County.

Engage

Given current public health guidelines on social distancing, early parts of the celebration will be mostly online. Follow us on Facebook (Columbus Area Bicentennial) and Instagram (@columbusarea200) for all things bicentennial.
