The City of Columbus is now offering electric vehicle charging in its Jackson Street and Second Street parking garages.

After receiving multiple requests for electric vehicle charging stations from residents, and given that many auto manufacturers will increase their presence in the EV market over the next 5-10 years, the Columbus Redevelopment Commission authorized the purchase of two Clipper Creek Share2 HCS-500 Level 2 EV stations that have been installed in each parking garage.  The City of Columbus is encouraging owners of environmentally friendly EV cars to visit the downtown area while doing their part to help slow emissions into our environment.

These units offer charging capability to many vehicle types, from the Chevy Volt to the Tesla.   Residents and visitors using our parking garages are welcome to use the charging stations for up to 2 hours at a time at no charge.  Violators will be towed at the owners expense.
