Update:

Due to flooding in the area Legacy Excavating, LLC has reschedule on of the scheduled repair location dates for the Louisville & Indiana (L&I) Railroad Company line . In addition, INDOT has announced that plans to close State Road (SR) 46 westbound to replace the railroad crossing on 3rd Street. The repairs will take place at the following dates and times (weather permitting):

• SR46 westbound to replace the railroad crossing on 3^rd (3^rd and Lindsey St.)
  • Saturday, April 12 – 13, 2025
  • 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM
• South Hinman Street (South of Vermont Street)
  • Thursday, April 17, 2025
  • 6:00am – 6:00pm

Repairs at South Gladstone Avenue and South Marr are still scheduled as planned (weather permitting).

Legacy Excavating, LLC has been contracted by Louisville & Indiana (L&I) Railroad Company to conduct several railroad crossing repairs in the city of Columbus. Officials with Legacy Excavating, LLC stated, “We understand that this may cause some inconvenience to your everyday travels, and we seek your kind understanding and cooperation.  Please plan accordingly and use alternate routes, if necessary.” All work will be weather dependent and in the event of inclement weather, alternative work days will occur on the next suitable day.
