Columbus has been privileged to have capable people from many walks of life, who chose to serve our city through challenges and successes – and we are lucky that many of them are still here to share their stories.

On Wednesday, September 11, we’re hosting a panel to hear from some of our past leaders – Legacy of Leadership – Our Mayors Remember. The event begins at 6:00 pm with a hospitality hour from 5:00 – 6:00 pm where guests can enjoy food and a cash bar.

The event will be held at the Commons and will be free to the public with open seating. Heritage Fund – The Community Foundation of Bartholomew County is our Presenting Sponsor and will cover the costs for the event.

The panel will consist of Mayor Nancy Ann Brown-Poynter, Deputy Mayor Sherry Stark (representing the Stewart Administration), Mayor Fred Armstrong, Mayor Jim Lienhoop and Mary Ferdon – with John Foster of White River Broadcasting as the moderator.

Each guest table will feature information about one of our former mayors.

This is an exciting opportunity to learn about 45+ years of history from people who served Columbus and have great stories to tell. We hope you will be able to join us for what should prove to be an interesting evening.
