Crews will ramp up work Tuesday, Sept. 1, on the water main and storm sewer along Second Street between Jackson Street and State Street. The work is scheduled to continue through Tuesday, Sept. 8, and will require periodic road closures and lane restrictions, most of which are scheduled to occur overnight.

On Tuesday, Sept. 1, crews will line-stop the 8‑inch water main at Second and Washington streets and retire the section of main on the east end of Second Street. After the line is retired, workers will install a new storm sewer inlet at Sycamore Street.

Beginning the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 8, crews will install a 36‑inch storm sewer across Second Street. The street will be closed at Jackson Street during the work, which is expected to take one night. Traffic will be rerouted north on Jackson Street or south on First Street to Franklin Street.

The timeline for completing the work is weather dependent, and inclement weather may delay progress within the designated schedule.
