Professional security officers may need to be involved in the planning and enactment of an event from traffic management, crowd control and emergency management perspective. However, the Columbus Police Department is not responsible for developing the plans, nor are they responsible for providing security services at your event.
Obtaining and paying for event security is the responsibility of the Event Organizer. Professional security officers may be hired from the Columbus Police Department, or a licensed security company like Securitas.
The Event Organizer is responsible for contacting Emergency Management Services.
It is the responsibility of the Event Organizer to contact the City Traffic Department at 812-376-2518 to discuss any and all traffic control equipment and signage needed for a particular event.
