Parking Enforcement

The Parking Division is staffed with one full time and one part time employee and supplemented by volunteers.  The three hour parking areas downtown are monitored along with yellow curbs, fire lanes, and physically handicapped spaces around the city.

Parking ticket payments can be mailed in the ticket envelope provided.  The address is already on it, just attach a stamp and enclose your payment.  They can also be paid at the Columbus Police Department Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  There is also a red drop box on the northeast corner of 5th and Washington Street.  The box is checked on a regular basis.  Payment types accepted are check, cash and money order.

Parking Tickets can be paid online.

School Crossing Guards

School Crossing Guards assist in getting elementary school children in non-bussed areas across busy intersections near their schools.  We have seventeen locations manned by twenty one crossing guards on each school day.  We work closely with Healthy Communities and the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation to provide our children with safe intersections to walk and bike to school.
